How often have you found yourself needing to wax your car or truck and then putting it off because of much strength and work it takes to get the job done by hand? It’s not an easy job to do by hand.
While looking around the auto parts store the other day I came across the AutoSpa 9-10 inch Orbital Polisher 94001AS and decided to give it a go.
What Are The Key Features Of The AutoSpa 9-10 Inch Orbital Polisher?
-
Lightweight And Easy To Use
The first thing you’ll notice when you start to use this machine is how light in weight it is.
I’ve used larger polishers that were heavy and would wear you out before you could even finish waxing the car. That’s not the case with this model.
-
Handle Grips
Holding onto this orbital polisher is simple.
The grips on each side make it easy to hold and apply wax, whether to the hood or roof, or down the sides of the vehicle.
They don’t slip due to the ergonomic wrapping and finger grips.
-
Dummy Proof
Not all of us are professional detailers by trade.
Most of us wouldn’t know how to use a high-speed buffer without destroying or burning the paint on the car. It’s a skill to be sure.
AutoSpa has designed this orbital to be ‘dummy’ proof.
You never have to be concerned with burning the paint by leaving the machine running in one place for a length of time.
It’s also very easy to apply the wax all over the car or truck. I don’t know about you, but I like simple.
What It Will Not Do
Probably the biggest point to keep in mind with this machine is that it is a random orbital polisher and NOT a high-speed buffer that spins at high RPM’s.
I’ve seen that this is confusing to a lot of people who have never used an orbital polisher before.
The pad doesn’t spin around in a circle like your professional buffer does.
It’s a random orbital polisher that operates like your orbital sander.
If you’re looking for a high RPM buffer that will buff out deeper scratches, this is not the model you’re looking for. (For jobs requiring this kind of work, I’d recommend leaving it to the professional detailers.)
This machine is designed for the vehicle owner looking to easily apply a coat of wax without all the time and effort of doing it by hand.
Pros
- Random orbital polisher is safe to use on any vehicle and does not burn paint
- Handles are comfortable to hold for longer periods of time
- Lightweight and easy to maneuver around your vehicle
- All types of replacement pads are readily available
Cons
- Small 12-inch cord
- Cord easily comes apart from extension cord if not tied together
Bottom Line – Does It Live Up To Its Promises?
Now that I’ve used this polisher on a couple of different vehicles I have to say it does a pretty good job overall.
While it won’t produce show room quality looks like you would get at a detail shop, it makes it easy to protect your vehicle with a coat of wax, as well as keep it looking as nice as possible.
